The creation of AJ.LABS (Almeida Junior Center of Innovation and Testing – which has six shopping malls in Santa Catarina) was the winning case among those presented at the 14th edition of IT4CIO – an event that brought together information technology managers from the largest companies of the State on June 15 and 16 in Balneário Camboriú. The main theme of this event was UX User Experience.
The participants of the event, an itinerant initiative held in several states annually, voted in the case ‘Almeida Junior creates AJ.LABS with an eye on the future’ as the best of the edition. The IT4CIO seeks to promote networking among the top managers in the industry, helping to strengthen the Brazilian technology landscape.
The technology manager of Almeida Junior and head of AJ.LABS, Esdras Floriani Holderbaum, presented the case and was also awarded the highlighted Chief Information Officer (CIO) – an award given to the IT executive who stands out for his/her work in the State. “It is an honor to receive this award. This is an incentive that shows that we are on the right track,” he said.
According to him, the positive result shows that Almeida Junior is on the right track and has a mature view on the future of Brazilian retail. “Receiving this award demonstrates we were on the right track during the first two years of work and that there is still much to come. Almeida Junior has over 50 initiatives mapped or currently under way,” he says.
Among AJ.LABS projects already developed is a solution that is part of the omnichannel strategy – SHOPPromo, a platform that works within the Almeida Junior APP. In addition to the platform, the initiative plan promoted partnerships with a North American company, integration with the startups ecosystem and the creation of a data modeling and analysis center.
