The smile of a healed and happy child is an invaluable prize. With the purpose of contributing to one of the most important campaigns in the country, Almeida Junior once again embraces the cause of children with cancer in Santa Catarina. From August 13 to 26, Balneário Shopping (Balneário Camboriú), Continente Shopping (Greater Florianópolis), Nações Shopping (Criciúma), Neumarkt and Norte Shopping (Blumenau) will have an edition of the Happy Store, a space dedicated to solidarity and where the McDonald Feliz campaign t-shirts and tickets will be sold on August 25. This project is a partnership between Almeida Junior, McDonald’s and the Association of Volunteers for the Support and Assistance to Children and Adolescents (AVOS), one of the beneficiary entities of the restaurant chain campaign

The Happy Store proposal is to involve the customer and awaken the feeling of solidarity. The format of this campaign was already a huge success in 2017, when over 1,000 tickets and almost 500 t-shirts were sold in the six shopping malls. Pictures of children who will benefit from the sale of T-shirts will be featured on hangers, stamped with the message “Together for a better future” (R$ 25), as well as Big Mac tickets (R$ 16.50), which may be exchanged for the sandwich at the McDia Feliz day in the shopping malls. All the money collected will help in the completion of the works of the new oncology clinic and in the acquisition of medical equipment for the Joana de Gusmão Children’s Hospital, a reference in the State for the treatment of child cancer.

At the Garten Shopping in Joinville, the campaign will benefit Jeser Amarante Faria Children’s Hospital. There will be a photo exhibition in the “Happy Space”, and customers will be able to leave messages. The sale of the Big Mac tickets will be at McDonald’s itself.

McDia Feliz is the largest campaign in Brazil for children and adolescents with cancer. The action is an initiative that mobilizes different sectors of society to contribute to increase the rates of cure of child and juvenile cancer in the country. Each year, 100 new cases of child cancer are registered in Santa Catarina. The campaign has been a great success for many years thanks to the fundamental participation of institutions, employees, franchisees and suppliers of the McDonald’s system, as well as thousands of volunteers who mobilize the whole society on the last Saturday of August.
