With the case “SHOPPromo: the unprecedented Brazilian omnichannel platform for shopping malls”, Almeida Junior took the second position from the Brazilian Association of Shopping Malls (ABRASCE) Award in the Technology and Innovation category. This is considered the most important award in the shopping mall segment. The award ceremony took place on Tuesday evening (August 14) in São Paulo during the ABRASCE 2018 awards dinner.
Launched in October of last year, SHOPPromo is an innovative technology platform to provide discounts to customers, adopting the omnichannel concept in the shopping mall segment. Offered within the Almeida Junior app, SHOPPromo offers promotions daily to all customers who have downloaded it − in a single platform. With an attractive and easy-to-use interface, it allows the customer to view the promotions on his/her cell phone or tablet, reserve the products, make the purchase and withdraw them in the physical store, expanding the range of options for the consumer and opening a further sales channel for shopkeepers.
“One of the major retail challenges is to put the omnichannel concept into practice, with the integration of the physical and virtual environment. SHOPPromo has come to fill this gap and the results have been surprising, proving that the customer uses the online tools but also values the experience of going to the shopping mall,” says Monique Campos, Almeida Junior Corporate Marketing Superintendent.
The platform was developed in-house through an initiative of AJ.LABS – Almeida Junior’s innovation and testing laboratory, with the interaction of the communication agency and the hiring of an external technical developer. It had a pilot phase and was tested between shopkeepers and customers before its launching, which allowed for adjustments and improvements that increased project assertiveness. Since it went live, SHOPPromo has already had 69,000 downloads and an average conversion rate of 26%.
